Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Eau Claire County Parks and Forest Department announced the need for a significant drawdown of water on Lake Altoona to help crews perform dam repairs.

The department said the water level on the lake has to be dropped 6-inches per day until they reach the desired depth. Crews will begin the drawdown on Oct. 12 and will last for several days.

The county is asking residents who have watercraft or docks on the lake should consider moving them by Oct. 13.
