The River Prairie Ginormous Pumpkin Festival is an exciting annual event held in Altoona, Wisconsin. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 8 AM to 3:30 PM at River Prairie Park.

What:The River Prairie Ginormous Pumpkin Festival is a family-friendly event celebrating the fall season with exciting activities including:

Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off: Massive pumpkins will be weighed throughout the day.  This year we are excited to have a $27K prize purse thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. Our weigh off is one of the best in the world!

The Great Pumpkin Races: Featuring a 5K run/walk and kids' races.Pumpkin Dessert Contest: A competition for the best pumpkin dessert in the Chippewa Valley.

Artist Market: Fall-themed items from local artisans.

Pet Costume Contest: Dress your pet in a pumpkin-themed costume and enter the contest.

Apple Slingshot: Test your accuracy by launching apples at a floating target.

Ginormous Pumpkin Drop: A giant pumpkin filled with candy will be dropped, creating a spectacular sight and a sweet treat for kids.
